Spiritual Care Coordinator Ministry

Purpose: To actively promote and maintain a spirit of caring and community at OBC where members are equipped to provide Biblical counsel, support, and encouragement to those who are hurting.

Methods: 

• Coordinate a benevolent ministry to help those who are hurting financially, physically, and spiritually. 
• Coordinate with the Pastor to evenly distribute the counseling load at OBC to effectively meet ongoing counseling needs represented within the flock.
• Develop and coordinate an elder caring ministry in which elders oversee and maintain caregiving to the OBC flock. 
• Provide counseling training to equip OBC members to serve as competent Biblical counselors. 
• Coordinate monthly counseling supervision meetings for OBC members who are actively counseling. 
• Plan and coordinate regular, church-wide social events to encourage the body life at OBC. 
• Develop a ministry structure to ensure those with special needs are able to be mainstreamed at OBC.
• Oversee the details to assist baptismal candidates who follow the Lord in water baptism. 
• Network those who request counseling at OBC with those who are best suited to counsel.
