On
Monday, January 24, fifteen OBC congregants participated in the
32nd Annual March for Life in Washington D.C. We joined with more than 100,000 pro-life marchers from across the United
States. We heard from pro-life leaders in the House and Senate
as well as an encouraging message by President Bush.
Read some comments from participants in the march below:
I have always been pro Life. I believe all life is sacred and
every child has the right to live. Roe v. Wade was a tragic day
in 1973. To take God's will out and put in the hands of sinful
man was truly a sad day for America. So when I saw in the
bulletin that the annual March for Life was going to happen in
DC, I decided that I wanted to do more than just watch it on the
6 o'clock news. I wanted to show my support in a tangible way.
I'm glad I went. Walking with all those other marchers showed me
how wrong abortion is. Some people carried signs that talked
about how abortion is murder and killing babies is wrong. Other
people held up pictures of aborted babies. Still others sang.
There was much praying throughout the day. The sign that touched
me the most was the sign that said, "Your Mom chose Life."
Through OBC I have also gotten involved with CareNet, a Pro
life organization focused on helping mothers who are considering
abortion. They have done wonderful things to provide
alternatives to abortion. They, like myself, believe that God is
the Creator of all life. —Laura Clark
At OBC, we rejoice
in recent rollbacks on abortion rights, such as the ban on
partial-birth abortions, and look forward to the day when the
scourge of Roe v Wade, which has resulted in the
slaughter of 46 million pre-born Americans since its passage in
1973, is overturned.
