 Mission and Goals

OBC's Couples Ministry

A chord of three strands is not quickly broken"
Ecclesiastes 4:12
(Marriage is a 3-person relationship: self, spouse and God.)

Mission Statement

The couple's ministry exists to bring refinement and worship into all areas of marriage and to strengthen the relationship of the family unit. We accomplish this by:

  • Creating an atmosphere that challenges marriages to reach the oneness that God intended
  • Committing to Biblical teaching on marriage and family life
  • Forming relationships with peers and mentors
  • Equipping you and your spouse to participate in ministry within the OBC family and the surrounding community

Our Community Goals:

Bible Study

Couples Ministry meets every Sunday morning for Bible Study, and worship with the OBC family.

Purpose

Three Strands is designed to help couples build a Godly marriage, remain committed to their marriage vows, grow closer to each other than they ever thought possible and develop a lifelong friendship with each other.

When Sinners Say "I Do" Lloyd Herbert

Marriage is the union of two people who arrive at the altar toting some surprisingly large luggage.  Often it gets opened right there on the honeymoon, sometimes it waits for the week after.  The Bible calls it sin and understanding its influence can make all the difference for a man and woman who are building a life together

When Sinners Say "I Do" is about encountering the life-transforming power of the gospel in the unpredictable journey of marriage.
