Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Christ should be the center not only of all that we do, but of who we are in our very essence. Jesus came, lived, died, and rose again, and still lives, for the sake of my salvation, to restore me to the place he originally intended for me. Christ exists not as an impersonal, “out there,” other worldly deity who views His creation indifferently. Rather, Christ actively seeks out my restoration and my good. His call actively proclaims His righteousness and confronts us all with who He is. He calls at a specific time and place and we must in some way heed this call. In His time on earth, His physical body embodied this proclamation. In our time, the church, His bride, embodies this proclamation. He is our center, not in where we are at now, but in where we should be. He is the definition of history and humanity, and it is He to whom we must go for renewal and life. | |
